Hey there, mamas Tomorrow is
Launch Day and I am so excited.
2
:I hope you've had a moment to get your
ducks in a row with our prepared to Dwell
3
:episodes, but just in case you need a
quick recap, here it is The Dwelling Place
4
:Bible Plan for busy moms is just that a
way to help moms be in the word of God.
5
:Every weekday I'll release an episode
that will include reading some scripture
6
:over you from that day's plan, talking
about some highlights on those passages
7
:and telling you how I believe it can
transform our homes for the glory of God.
8
:And then I'll pray for you and your kids.
9
:I hope this is a way I can point you to
the heart of God and show and encourage
10
:you with all he has to say about families.
11
:There are lots of ways to engage
with this, but I hope you'll
12
:commit to journey with us.
13
:If you're looking for our free
printable plan, I will link
14
:our website in the show notes.
15
:You'll go there and get signed
up to get access to a file with
16
:lots of principles that can help
you, but don't be overwhelmed.
17
:This can be very simple and can be
just pressing play every morning while
18
:you're getting ready for the day.
19
:If you'd like to organize any of
your resources or put your notes in
20
:one place, I just saw that Target
has some really beautiful binders.
21
:All for about $7.
22
:And if that makes you feel geared
up and ready to go, I think
23
:it's a really valid purchase.
24
:And I know I'm talking to moms, so if
it's crossed your mind that you have a
25
:plan and that you understand how much
you need Jesus, but how in the world
26
:are your kids gonna get this message?
27
:I wanted to share a really simple
rule that I instituted in my
28
:house for teaching my kids how
to respect my time in the word.
29
:I am one of those moms that
likes to drop everything for my
30
:kids off to a detrimental level.
31
:And as I was praying a couple years
ago about how I could teach them that
32
:my walk with the Lord was first and
foremost, I decided to teach them that
33
:when they come down in the morning.
34
:that I love for them to come over and
tell me good morning and gimme a hug.
35
:But then I want them to play quietly until
I'm ready to get up and make breakfast.
36
:Of course, I keep this to a
reasonable timeframe, but that's
37
:worked really well and it's a
pattern that I've set in our home.
38
:Of course, when they were toddlers
or nursing babies, it was trickier.
39
:And I absolutely understand and
remember that season, it was at
40
:that time that the daily nap or
quiet time was pivotal for me.
41
:But when I switched to mornings,
this is how I made the transition.
42
:If you'd like a little bit more detail
on how I managed quiet times, as my kids
43
:are outgrowing naps, we'll be airing
those details on the Again, podcast also
44
:from a Trusted Ministries this week.
45
:Secondly, the most common time that I
listen to podcasts is when I'm making
46
:dinner, and I've taught my kids that
they can interrupt me at any time, but
47
:they need to come and press the pause
button for me before they start talking,
48
:and that's really helpful because I
often have raw chicken on my hands
49
:or something while I'm making dinner.
50
:I hope I'm reinforcing the idea
that I'm available for them, but
51
:that they also need to respect, when
I am trying to learn and to grow.
52
:And I am not minimizing the process it
takes to train kids, but my experience
53
:with motherhood tells me you may
have a frustrating week setting a
54
:standard, but you'll be blessed for
years after it's been established.
55
:So put in the hard work and then
enjoy the fruit and the years to come.
56
:In episode two, we talked about Psalm
84 and how it's encouraged me in my
57
:motherhood and in my walk with Jesus.
58
:And I want you to remember from
the garden in Genesis two, all the
59
:way through the end of Revelation,
he longs to be our dwelling place.
60
:I can't wait for you to see
how often that thread is woven
61
:through the pages of scripture.
62
:And I hope that it teaches you to
seek his presence more than anything,
63
:I'm praying that you're blessed
with every episode that it would
64
:minister to you and encourage you
to live a life in light of eternity.
65
:We'll see you tomorrow for our
official start in Genesis one,
